Romantic Bossa-Nova Live Taping — SIR Studios

On December 8, 2019, Bunny Brunel and Kaylene Peoples present a special live taping of Romantic Bossa-Nova at SIR Studios, capturing the project in an intimate studio performance setting. Designed for both live interpretation and visual documentation, the session highlights the elegance of Brazilian bossa nova alongside the harmonic sophistication of modern jazz. Brunel’s melodic bass anchors the performance with warmth and precision, while Peoples’ flute and vocals shape the lyrical and atmospheric core of the program.

The ensemble features Mahesh Balasooriya on piano, including a featured performance on “Corcovado,” alongside Bryan Cabrera on drums, Joe Calderon on guitar, Sandra Booker on vocals, and Jon Brooks on percussion. Filmed by Andy Govatsos and Devino Tricoche, the session captures the nuance and interaction of the ensemble in real time, preserving both the musical and visual essence of the performance.
